Aims and Objectives of Himachal Pradesh Merchant Navy Officers’ Parents Welfare Society, Palampur H.P.

The Society is constantly working to achieve the following aims and objectives with in its possible available financial resources and other ways and means.

  • To establish and increase cooperation among the members and their wards.
  • To initiate welfare activities for the families of the members and their wards.
  • To create general awareness regarding job/career opportunities in Merchant Navy among the needy and aspirant students with the changing scenario.
  • To address or take up the genuine problems faced by Wards during their job with the concerned agencies through Govt.
  • To create Counselling cell to provide guidance and assistance to the freshers regarding placement and how to escape from mal-practices in placements.
  • To take Social Welfare Activities for the overall development, to protect the culture heritage and to eradicate the social evils.
  • To make best use of experience and knowledge of the SOCIETY members and their wards so that the benefits percolate to the target groups.
  • To undertake any other activities or programmes as may be approved by the General body from time to time.

Membership

If any person want to become the member of MNOPWS, he will have to apply on prescribed form to the President of the Society and after the approval of Executive Committee he will be enrolled as member of the MNOPWS after payment of membership fee.

Eligibility

Father, Mother, Husband, Wife, Children and Legal guardian of any merchant Navy Officer or he himself, can be a member of MNOPWS.

Membership Fee

The rate of life membership fee and annual/ monthly subscription charges are as under:-
(A) Life membership fee (one time) Rs. 1000/-
(B) Annual subscription Rs. 3000/- (i.e. @250/- per month).

These rates are subject to revision from time to time.
